A story about Boyd Tinsley
Saw him at a John Edwards event.
I’ve long been a fan of John’s work with the Grateful Dead and EFF. He is a Facebook friend, and fellow Harvardian.
because he has met 2 of my fave poets Allen ginsmerg and lawrence ferlinghetti, and I would love to know first hand what it was like meeting these amazing amzing writers of the beat era!
I met Maris when she was teaching at Harvard, I believe it was. She was a friend of an old and dear roommate.
A great and good soul…
I was attending a conference of Spiritual Progressives in DC, when Jim showed up and wowed us with glimpses of the future we are creating. A great spirit and communiator…
I first met John Edwards when he came to Concord and had private counsel with a handful of bloggers. He is the real deal. By his conscious labors and high ideals, he has earned the stewardship of the White House.
Godspeed!
Dave
woo hoo, I’m now between Al Franken and Kurt Vonnegut… not bad… Plus, he is from North Carolina – us alternative, liberal Southerners have to stick together don’t we?
I like to meet people who want to meet me. In fact I am flattered. Not sure if I am responding in the correct way though. Hep me somebody! :)
Cheers,
Dave Beckwith

I got to see the venerable Bishop Tutu when he came to speak at Harvard, whose policies, at the time were supportive of apartheid. It was an interesting time in that quite a number of students and activists set up shanty shacks on Harvard Yard to protest Harvard’s position.
The school finally divested, largely, I suspect, from the embarrassment caused by the protests, and Bishops Tutu’s impassioned words and deeds.
When will Jade be playing in, or near North Carolina? I know Jon has some connection with North Carolina through Opio, (no, not Opie) and I would love to see him again, perhaps with Jade, and so I would assume she would know that her amazing family is always welcome, and requested.
Come on down!
